Harris Experience
KS3 - Chobham Experience
We identify our More Able students in Year 7 using KS2 SATS results, CAT4 Cognitive Ability Tests, NfER reading tests, in-class assessment, and teacher recommendation.
Our cohort of ‘Chobham Experience’ students represents approximately 10% of their year group. Our Chobham Experience cohort is as inclusive as possible; we ensure that it is representative of our diverse population of students to ensure equity for students of irrespective of ethnic and socio-economic background.
At KS3 our Chobham Experience programme comprises:
- Mathematics masterclasses
- Visits to the Royal Institution of Great Britain
- Visits to the National Poetry Library, British Library and Theatre
- Participation in the National Literacy Trust’s Young Mystery Writer’s Programme
And for Year 9 students:
- Participation in the Brilliant Club’s Scholar Programme
- ‘Oxplore’ tutor-time sessions
Year 9 to 11 – Harris Experience
In Year 9, we identify around ten of our most curious, creative, and committed Chobham Experience students to form our Harris Experience cohort. Most Harris Experience students will also be eligible for the Pupil Premium.
