Enrichment

At Harris Academy Chobham we value the importance of enrichment and offer a broad enrichment programme for all students. We strongly believe that enrichment provides our students with opportunities to try new and varied activities which helps develop their character, resilience and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals. In enrichment, students are given the opportunity to extend their learning beyond the normal curriculum, increase their cultural capital and develop interests which will hopefully last a lifetime. Importantly, enrichment also gives students the opportunity to work with children of other ages in a structured learning environment.

We offer a wide range of enrichment activities which include Values days, Sports Clubs, compulsory Enrichment sessions for Year 7 and 8 students, Activities day, yearly Academy Trips and Sport Clubs.

Our year 7-8 students must participate in an enrichment activity on a Tuesday evening until 3.30pm, as part of their formal curriculum and the enrichment session form part of students’ timetables. These enrichment sessions are all grouped under three categories: Critical Thinking, Culture and Active. Each Year 7 and 8 student will take part in a carousel system, whereby every term they will change their enrichment so that they will have the opportunity to participate in all three categories. This will ensure that every year 7 and 8 student have the opportunity to try new and varied activities over a broad and balanced curriculum.

Enrichment is also available to year 10, 11 and 12 students as an option.

Below is a list of all the enrichment sessions we offer, including our sport clubs:
